The regulation known as the Seveso Directive has been implemented in Türkiye through the “Regulation on the Prevention of Major Industrial Accidents and Mitigation of Their Effects,” published in the Official Gazette dated March 2, 2019 (No. 30702), in line with Council Directive 2012/18/EU dated July 4, 2012.

Our establishment operates in compliance with this regulation. The notification specified in Article 7 has been submitted via the official notification system. Within this scope, our establishment has been classified as a “Lower-Tier Establishment.”

In accordance with Article 10 of the regulation, a “Major Accident Prevention Policy Document” has been prepared.

ACTIVITIES CARRIED OUT AT OUR ESTABLISHMENT

Gürok Turizm ve Madencilik A.Ş. manufactures tableware glass and glass packaging. Production is carried out by melting and shaping a batch composed primarily of silica sand, soda ash, limestone, dolomite, and other auxiliary materials in natural gas-fired regenerative furnaces.

Family University Project

The Family Academy Project, conducted by Kütahya Dumlupınar University with our support, celebrated the graduation of its participants with a ceremony held on January 14.

Launched as part of the declaration of 2025 as the “Year of the Family,” the project offered training programs on topics such as family communication, empathy, psychological resilience, and social harmony. Families who participated in the program experienced a meaningful development journey, strengthening their family bonds through training delivered by expert academics.

The ceremony was attended by public officials, university representatives, Gürok Group executives, academics, and participating families. During the opening speeches, the social contribution of the Family Academy was emphasized, followed by a musical performance, as well as the presentation of certificates and plaques.

The event concluded with a cap toss ceremony and a group photo session, leaving participating families with unforgettable memories.

Sainte Pulchérie Design Competition

The Sainte Pulchérie Design Competition, organized by Sainte Pulchérie French High School with our sponsorship support, was successfully completed with an award ceremony.

As part of the competition, which aimed to encourage young people to develop creative perspectives on social issues, participants produced original designs under the themes of Climate Action, Gender Equality, and Peace and Justice. Students combined their awareness with aesthetic expression and creative thinking, delivering meaningful projects.

Eren Okuş won first place with a design on the theme of “Climate Action,” while Naz İpek secured second place with her work on “Gender Equality,” and Sofya Akan placed third with her design on “Peace and Justice.”

All proceeds from the award night were donated to the Community Volunteers Foundation (TOG), further strengthening the competition’s mission to create social impact while supporting youth creativity.

We would like to thank all students and participants who contributed to this valuable project carried out in collaboration with Sainte Pulchérie French High School, and we are proud to support the work of young people who create with a strong sense of social responsibility.

Supporting Students through the Rıza Güral “Education First for the Future” Scholarship Fund

As part of a meaningful collaboration with the Turkish Education Foundation (TEV), Gürok Group is launching the “Rıza Güral Education First for the Future Scholarship Fund”, driven by its belief that education is the most powerful tool for social transformation. This special fund aims to support the educational journeys of young people studying in Kütahya and Antalya, going beyond financial assistance by also providing long-term support for their career development.

Within the scope of the program, which spans ten years, a total of 1,000 students will be awarded scholarships. In addition, career planning, mentorship, and internship opportunities will be offered to help young people enter the workforce better prepared. In this way, the program aims to strengthen not only students’ academic success but also their professional skills.

Designed in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, this scholarship fund focuses particularly on increasing access to quality education and promoting gender equality. As an important part of Gürok Group’s social responsibility vision, this initiative contributes to helping young people realize their full potential while also representing a strong step toward a more equitable and sustainable future.

Ağaçköy Education Project

Project Information

• Phase 1: Arduino Robotic Programming; Phase 2: LEGO Mindstorms Robotic Programming – both theoretical and practical training sessions were completed at Ağaçköy Secondary School with our expert instructor.

• The training duration was 1 month (summer holiday period).

• Groups consisted of 10 students each.

• During the program, a total of 40 secondary school and 10 primary school students received training.

• To establish a foundation in programming

• To develop mathematics and computer science competencies

• To contribute to raising socially responsible individuals

• To improve academic performance

• To support students’ social development

STEM+A Project

Project Information

• STEM+A is an acronym formed from the initials of Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Art.

• The STEM+A educational approach focuses not on specializing in each of these five disciplines separately, but on learning by establishing connections between them. This approach fosters skills such as inquiry, research, production, and innovation. In the future, there will be a growing need for individuals educated with this mindset in the workforce.

• During the visits, which included 320 8th-grade students and 32 teachers from 16 schools, participants had the opportunity to observe the advanced technologies used in a factory producing 2 million glass products per day. Mini training sessions were also provided by expert Industrial, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineers.

• Prior to the visits, students were given an introductory presentation on STEM+A.

• All necessary occupational health and safety measures were taken before the factory tours, and students were provided with appropriate safety equipment.

Students participating in the LAV factory STEM+A tours were awarded certificates to commemorate the significance of the day.

Yıldız Education Project

Project Information

The Yıldız Education Project was initiated on August 2, 2006, on the 10th anniversary of our company, and was named after Ms. Yıldız Güral. The project officially started during the 2006–2007 academic year.

The main objective of the project is to provide opportunities for the children of our employees, supporting them in building a better future and preparing them for life. It is widely recognized that a good high school education is the key to accessing a good university.

In this context, the project initially focused on preparation for the Secondary Education Institutions Examination (OKS) and later continued as preparation for the Level Determination Exams (SBS).

Within the scope of the project, education was provided to a total of 296 students:

• 62 students in the 2006–2007 academic year

• 110 students in the 2007–2008 academic year

• 124 students in the 2008–2009 academic year

In the 2009–2010 academic year, 117 students continue their education within the program.

Project Objectives

• To prepare students for the Level Determination Exams (SBS)

• To improve their academic performance at school

• To support their social development

• To enhance their self-confidence

• To contribute to raising socially responsible individuals

• To support their intellectual development

• To fulfill our responsibility as a company in contributing to the development of a generation that will carry Türkiye beyond the level of contemporary civilizations

At the beginning of the program, a placement test is conducted, and students are grouped into classes based on their results as follows:

• Grade 8 – 3 level groups

• Grade 7 – 3 level groups

• Grade 6 – 2 level groups

Hediye Güral Kindergarten

The construction of Hediye Güral Kindergarten began on March 22, 2008, following a protocol signed by philanthropist businessman Rıza Güral, in the presence of Governor Şükrü Kocatepe, Director of Public Works and Settlement Vahit Okumuşer, and Provincial Director of National Education Halis Demir. The construction was completed on June 30, 2008, as originally committed.

The kindergarten was officially handed over to the Kütahya Directorate of National Education via the Governor’s Office on September 2, 2008.

Located in Yıldırım Beyazıt Neighborhood, Gülağaçlar area in the city center, Hediye Güral Kindergarten has a capacity of 100 students and 4 classrooms, and became operational in the 2008–2009 academic year.

The kindergarten consists of 4 classrooms, 1 teachers’ room, 1 administrative office, 1 playroom, 1 sleeping room, 2 kitchens, 2 children’s restrooms, 2 teachers’ restrooms, and 1 boiler room.
